How it started:

Our company was founded in 2020 during the great resignation. We saw first hand the effects of unhealthy work cultures, leading to more than 34 million Americans to quit their jobs. 

According to a 2021 study done at MIT SLOAN, a toxic corporate culture is 10.4x more powerful than compensation in predicting a company's turnover rate compared with its industry.


From that study, the most common ways employees described a toxic culture was a failure to promote diversity, equity and inclusion; workers feeling disrespected; unethical behavior or low integrity; abusive managers; and a cutthroat environment where they felt colleagues were actively undermining them. 

But it doesn't have to be that way. 

Our founder and CEO, Felicia Shtivelman, worked in the corporate world for over 15 years before becoming a certified professional coach, and has been a part of good teams and not so great teams. She has worked with the best and the brightest, however, it doesn't matter how smart or talented you are, all it takes is one toxic employee to destroy a team.

If companies want to keep employees, they can offer more career opportunities, remote work, social events, etc., however, that may only boost retention in the short term. 

Leaders who are serious about winning the war for talent during the Great Resignation and beyond, however, must do more.
